The Jack C. Massey College of Business at Belmont University is seeking

Responsibilities
Seeking an energetic and enthusiastic candidate with a passion for developing and leading innovative
programs within the Business Systems and Analytics (BSA) department as they
apply to Data Governance, Privacy, Ethics and the Legal Environment. Additionally, this person
will contribute to building multidisciplinary programs as part of the new
Belmont Data Collaborative (BDC) in partnership with Nashville’s industry
leaders (for- and non-profit and government) as well as creating a pipeline of
well-trained and qualified graduates.
Job responsibilities include creating and teaching sections of
Business Law and Business Ethics classes designed for the BSA major to promote
a greater understanding and application of Data
Governance, Privacy, Ethics and the Legal Environment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additional
responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly
activity, and college and university service. Ph.D., J.D.,
or progress toward a terminal degree is required; teaching experience strongly
preferred. As all Belmont undergraduates complete an
innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary
components, Belmont University is particularly seeking applicants who can

Belmont’s Jack C. Massey College of Business is AACSB accredited in both
Business and Accounting and is one of the fastest growing colleges in the
university. Our programs enroll
approximately 700 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students. We emphasize collaborative student
interaction, active adult learning, team experiences, and scholarship that draw
upon a variety of methodologies and subject areas. The Business Systems &
Analytics department consists of four full-time faculty members with an
impressive range of teaching and research expertise in the areas of information
systems and data analytics, who share dedication to the University and College mission,

Business Systems & Analytics
The BSA major consists of three primary tracks designed to prepare
students for careers that blend a strong business acumen with information
systems, data analytics, and cybersecurity. The Business Systems track is
designed for students who desire to serve as the "bridge" between
business leaders and IT specialists by developing problem solving skills,
learning how to think strategically about IT and implementing technological
solutions. The Business Systems track prepares students for careers as project
managers, business analysts, and IT consultants. The Business Analytics track
is designed for students who want to analyze data to solve business problems by
equipping students with skills for transforming data into information and
actionable insights, improving business processes, and helping shape
organizational strategy. The Cybersecurity track provides students with the
skills needed to protect the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of
data, preserve and restore information systems, and develop risk management
skills to anticipate and avoid cyber threats.
Belmont Data Collaborative
The Belmont Data Collaborative (BDC) is a group comprised of Belmont University
deans, faculty and staff along with industry professionals, who have come
together to nurture and inspire the Belmont community to solve our world’s
challenges and contribute to human flourishing by integrating data fluency with
moral, ethical, and social responsibility. The BDC serves as a center for
coordination and communication of data initiatives across the university
developing a diverse community of scientists and organizational
managers/leaders who will bring a moral, ethical and social compass to their
utilization of data analytics. The BDC is working to meet the demand for data
fluency from data scientists to decision makers by delivering curricula
addressing data-related issues in all fields of disciplinary and
interdisciplinary study by creating an evolving portfolio of degree and
continuing education programs to provide broad-based data literacy for a
variety of target audiences, including undergraduate students, graduate
students, and working professionals. The BDC is designed to serve as a resource
for Nashville through academic-community partnerships specializing in key
industries, including health services, music/entertainment and
entrepreneurship. Industry partners include members from Amazon, HCA
Healthcare, Tractor Supply, AllianceBernstein, The Mechanical Licensing
Collective, Cat Financial, HealthTrust, Schneider Electric, Nissan North
