Office of Career & Professional Development - Social Media Intern

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Social Media Intern will assist with social media and e-mail marketing campaign strategy and implementation for the Office of Career & Professional Development.

Assist with the management of all social media accounts for Career & Professional Development •

Utilize the Social Media & Marketing Calendar and HootSuite to plan and schedule consistent social media and e-mail communication to students and alumni

• Assist with initiating and implementing social media campaigns, contests, employer spotlights and other strategic initiatives in order to increase followers and engagement across platforms

• Contribute picture and video content for social media and e-mail communications

• Create graphics using Canva to promote upcoming programs and events

• Assist with compiling analytics for social media, e-mail campaigns and website

• Serve as liaison to Peer Career Advisors to provide updates on marketing plans and social media initiatives and delegate tasks under supervision

• Represent Career & Professional Development at events and provide general administrative support (answering phones and greeting office visitors) as needed

Required EducationSome coursework in Public Relations, Communications, English, Marketing or Design Communications preferred 
Required ExperienceStrong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest Working knowledge of HootSuite and MyEmma preferred Some experience with basic graphic design, photography and/or video production preferred Ability to work independently and accept individual responsibility for projects or assignments
